Living in the beautiful coastal region of the Illawarra it’s important to get regular skin checks to help prevent skin cancer.
Unfortunately, skin cancer is the third most common cause of cancer in Australia, with a death every five hours due to melanoma. Thankfully, skin cancer can be prevented or treated early with regular skin checks.
Village Practice now has two GPs with a special interest in Skin, Dr Fiona Danson and Dr Andrew Hilliar have both completed additional training in minor surgical procedures and will be offering skin checks, skin biopsies/excisions and removal of skin lesions.
