The blue sky is a psychology practice which focuses on the emotional wellbeing of children and their parents. We work with children experiencing worries, stress and overwhelm in a way which supports their overall health, development and psychological wellbeing. Our approach is holistic and integrative and we use a variety of evidence-based techniques and philosophies when supporting a child through a tricky time, specifically using art, play and mindfulness. Part of this process also involves working closely with a child’s parents to develop ways to best support themselves and their child and to foster family wellness.
Rebecca Hartman (she/her), founder of the blue sky psychology practice, is a Registered Psychologist, Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and Associate Member of the APS College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wollongong and her Masters of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) at Monash University. Her experience involves several years in academic research with the University of Sydney, time in the not-for-profit sector, within schools and in private practice.
“I am passionate about slowing down, creativity, getting outside, play and creating the space for children to develop in their own unique way. I hope to help children and parents to process what is troubling them, and to develop the habits to support their wellbeing as they navigate the ups and downs of life.”
Sessions are available at the Village Practice on a Thursday.
